Students view several videos and have discussions about "revealing too much online" (giving out personal identification info, posting embarrassing pics of or information about yourself or friends that you may regret, what your username, profile say about you and how all of this can hurt your reputation or job/college prospects) During the lesson, students are to write down thoughts and phrases that come to mind or that they hear into a Google Doc. These words/phrases will be pasted into a Wordle to be saved as an image and uploaded to a wiki or printed out. This lesson uses the 1st part of the Netsmartz PowerPoint for Tweens & the videos that come with it, along w/ some other videos:

After the lessons, have students create a Prezi (www.prezi.com) to illustrate good Internet Safety / Digital Citizenship, using the imac camera & PhotoBooth to take pics of themselves and classmates to use in the Prezi. Embed the Prezis on an Internet Safety / Digital Citizenship wiki you create. Create a general account w/ Prezi, that you can use for students, or have them create their own accounts.)
